There are so many things to shop for in Japan.
I do agree that clothes are more expensive. But there are still more things to buy home
1) UCC drip coffee or green tea - Visit the supermarket and buy them. They are so much cheaper than in Singapore and sometimes, you cannot even find them here. |
2) Visit their Pharmacy - Compare the prices from different Pharmacy before you buy. Heat face mask - Cost only $1 instead of $2 sold here. Medical heat patch - Equivalent to Yoko Yoko. Cheap too Bubble Hair dye - you can get them easily at about $9, instead of $16 to $19 here Sun Block - You can never get any sun block at a cheap price here Moisturizer - I bought quite a lot of cheap moisturizer here and no issues with them. Disposable face mask - Japan is a country where you find people wear face mask without feeling embarrass. You can easily find face mask sold in boxes of 80 to 100 easily. I normally goes there to stock up these mask. |

3) Visit the Aeon Supermarket or any other supermarket Get their 3 in one instant coffee if you do not like drip coffee Check out their bakery area, try out their steam cakes and pancakes |
4) Buy their local strawberry jam. I just realised the $5 bottle of strawberry jam I bought in Japan cost $10 here. |
5) Check out their instant noodles section when you visit the supermarket. I found this Instant Udon in one the supermaket near Kirin Beer factory in Fukuoka. A remote area. This udon is so interesting, it comes with a dried bean curd in it. |
6) Found this from a supermarket in Fukuoka. Cooked scallops and stewed eggs. Meant to go with beer or Sake. I have it with porridge when I came home. Strangely, I cannot find them from Hiroshima or Hokkaido when I visited after Fukuoka. |
7) Check out 7-Eleven and get these instant bowl noodles. The cashier will give you disposable chopsticks and wet napkin if you buy the bowl noodles from them thinking we are eating it right away. The special thing about these instant bowl noodles is, they have a piece of meat in them. I love them and usually bring quite a lot of them home whenever I travel to Japan. This Nissin noodles is exclusively for 7 eleven in Japan only. |
8) Rabbit Marshmallow from Fukuoka In Osaka and Tokyo, most of the gifts displayed in shopping area are so expensive that we do not even dare to ask or sample them. But when I visited Fukuoka, Yamaguchi and Hiroshima, we realized their gifts were so reasonably priced. Must buy when you see them. Soft and melt in your mouth. |
9) This mochi is transparent and smooth. Got this from Fukuoka. Found them in Narita Airport Tokyo. Do get a box for yourself when you spot it. |
10) Chick pastry from Fukuoka Cute and yet smooth and tasty Must buy when you visit Fukuoka or find them in Airport. |
11) Another marshmallow that we cannot resist. Another Yamaguchi and Fukuoka sweets. |
12) GU Store Lastly clothes. GU is a sister company of Uniqlo. The stocks they carry is cheaper than Uniqlo and the material they used is till good. I loved their jeans. Usually, I will check their discounted items and buy them home. |
